Ahem!
Our Forces in Iraq are not fighting to keep AMERICA free, but I understand what you are trying to say.

Happy 4th to all my new American friends.

It's also not just US forces serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, but from many other nations, too. They are also in numerous other countries doing support and everyday services, too.

I wished everyone a Happy Independence Day in another thread. But I will do so here as well.

I hope you all had as much fun with your friends and family as I did for Canada Day. Enjoy your summer now that it is here.

My kids made a flag cake for Independence Day...they were so proud of it! It was yummy, too!

That looks delicious Springie.

You have some talented kids, but that is to be expected considering how talented you are.

That looks yummy, Springie! It's like you're going to have someone who could be able to cook you dinner in the future! It's quite a comforting thought to have some days off at times!

I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed Canada Day, CD, even after reading the other thread! Sorry I wasn't able to wish you, and all our fellow Canadians, the best before. I hope everyone has enjoyed the day to the full!

Thank you Marie. For me, since I am a teacher, it is the beginning of a well deserved holiday. And time to get some energy back so I can deal with a new group of children. So far I have been napping in the middle of the afternoon, which is very unusual for me. But then I had a very tough year this year - or so I have been told by all my fellow teachers - I did not think so, but maybe this is the way it is showing itself.

Generally, you feel tired when everything is over ... when you're working you do not notice how much strength is being squeezed out of you, especially if you're dedicated to your job! You deserve to rest, CD!

It is either what you mentioned, Marie or the another sign that I am getting older. I can't do what I could when I was 20, or even 30.

Just let's skip that frustrating subject, CD!! ... even if I have to sadly admit that additional years do make a lot of difference!

*smirk*

I will agree there Marie, on skipping the subject. Then I don't have to think about "growing old." Big Grin

That's one other "big" subject that I would gladly like to ignore also, if my mind would ever let me!!!! Unfortunately, we cannot deny that time does pass by quickly, leaving its marks behind!! But, ultimately, the most important thing is how we feel inside!
