It's April ....

And I need another change to my desk top image. Can anyone think of any Gatch pictures/images they would relate to April?

Here are a few I found of course my favourite it Springie's picture of the team under their Umbrella, ella, ellas. And we have another of Jun in the rain by TB. Nambu in the rain is by Dinsmore. And then there is Joe in the rain by Trideegurl

Thank you Maddy. Unfortunately all I can think of for April is "April Showers".

If anyone else has another suggestion, it might help me find something different.

Hmmmm...an April theme other than "April Showers"? Let me think about that...I know I have some generic Spring themed pics...

Well after Maddy posted I suddenly remembered, she being in the other hemisphere may not be thinking "April Showers." It may be a Northern hemisphere saying .... IYKWIM.

But I would love to see what Spring themed pics you find Springie.

It's Autumn (fall) down here - so you could include those sorts of fics as well.

The Swan and Cherry Blossoms screams spring. We get more rain in March than April, depending on the year.

April is the month for cherry blossoms so that one with Jun in a kimono is just perfect!

March, April and May are my favorite months of the year ... and all these pics depict them perfectly, especially the one with Jun in a kimono surrounded by cherry blossoms! And when there's the Eagle involved, it's always April for me! I also like to view these months, and the atmosphere they carry with them, as the months during which love can tenderly blossom before the heat of Summer!

Thank you for those lovely pictures Springie. I might choose one of them for next month, if I don't find something else to use. Or convince someone to do a nice May pic.

So if it is April showers and cherry and apple blossoms. What would May represent?

Baby animals, Lilacs and ..... Mothers Day?

Right now I am still trying to decide between the "rain" ones. Probably the one with the team under the Umbrella's. Since it has my Owl in it - even if he is looking a little .... hmmm, like his light bulb is on dim.

Nice pic Springie!!!

TJ - I'm like you. I changed mine a couple of weeks ago to another of Robix's beautiful pics though (the garage one).

As for May - there is an old saying that a couple is "smelling of April and May" - implying that they are deeply in love.

This came from the fact that June was the traditional month for weddings, which meant that the banns had to be called no later than the first week in May.

Banns - until the 19th Century, in order for a wedding to be "legal" in England, the Banns had to be called in church 3 weeks in a row. This was bascially the MInister standing up and annoucnign the names of those wanting to get married and asking for any objections to be brought othim.

If, after 3 weeks of calling the banns, there were no objections, the couple could be married legally.

The Banns had to be called from the church in the parish in which the couple were being married from - when it was first brought into being, couples didn't move parishes.

That's nice to know, Maddy!

CD ... you're so spoilt for choice, especially with those lovely pics of Springie's!

As for me, our desktop is always some picture of our children! We change a pic once we would take a better one of the two of them!

The month of May, for me, represents maternal love (the mother of all types of love) as we celebrate Mother's Day. I've always tried to make this day special for my mother as we were so close. Even if I used to try my best in order to show her my gratitude throughout an entire year, Mother's Day was a day that always has given me the chance to manifest more openly my feelings towards her. And such feelings haven't changed even after her demise ... I can say that they have grown stronger!

May is also the month during which my first-born child celebrates his birthday, so it's a rather special one! I'm already organising his birthday party ... he's going to be six and, according to him, he's now a grown-up ... already!
