Thoughts about the upcoming A-Team movie.

Being a child of the 80's, I have a place in my heart for the A-Team. The action was really over the top, and sort of silly, but you gotta love it anyway. 20th Century Fox has a brand new A-Team movie coming out this summer, and I don't think this film is a good idea. I mean what is the A-Team without Mr. T? Seriously. That's like Terminator with Arnold Schwarzenegger (which has already happened, too!), Rambo or Rocky without Sylvester Stallone, Die Hard without Bruce Willis. I don't think I'll be seeing it.

I'm really looking forward to it. I loved the A-Team (also being a teenager of the 80's) and dfinitely going to see it.

As long as they blow up cars...it'll be the A-team! LOL!!! I just hope the female lead gets a break this time from being pretty and dumb...

I was a fan in the 80's!!!

I was a fan in the 80's too! I would very much like to watch the upcoming movie but, as always, my heart stands by the originals!

Sometime in June. I don't know the exact date.

Any film that has a midair parachuting tank battle can't be bad.

I'm just sayin'.

If one of the nut-bars here could pull it off, a crossover between the original 'A-Team' and either Gatch or BotP would be -- interesting. The problem is that everything that made the show such fun doesn't translate well to print (especially 'Howling Mad' Murdock -- who may not be as crazy as he seems).

I always found Murdock quite sane and possibly the most intelligent one on the team.

It does look good, and it been so long since I've seen the A-Team I might just be able to have a degree of seperation from it...but then... i was in love with Dirk Benedict back then and I don't know if they could replace him so easily....dreamy sigh...

I agree with you, Mads! Though seemingly absolutely crazy, I always thought that Murdock knew well what he did and what he wanted to be seen like. Even his most extravagant behaviours fitted well with most of their tactics, sometimes enabling the team to save the day!

... and who wasn't?!!! Those were good times ... I watched A-Team for Dirk Benedict and mum watched it for George Peppard ... the age gap made some difference!

Weren't we all?

You know I was just thinking the A-Team never made it into my BOTP universe. Many other shows I watched did but the A-Team never did.

Unfortunately we live in a world were Hollywood can't just leave something legendary alone and has to either milk it with 100's of sequels or make complete remakes.

For example, The Matrix, awesome film, very good story (albeit a copy of Dark City) it made Cinema history.

Could they just leave the legend? No they has to milk it for another two films which were both below par and tarnished the originals reputation.

Will the A-Team Movie be the same? You can guarantee it as they will try to make it more relevant to today's time and youth but isn't the point of its success because of the period of time it came from?

Really not looking forward to it.
