Questions, I has 'em
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.
I was an idiot the other day when I found all 85 BotP episodes on veoh and didn't bookmark it instantly. Well Friday evening, just as was settling in to watch a few more eps, we had a "ten second" power failure which totally shut down my Mac. I lost the URL to the episodes completely and could not find my way back there. Does someone have the link to that sight and the eps? I really need it badly.
Also, people have been talking about a book about BotP. I know the author's name has been in several threads and I'm sure I can find the name if I look. Is that book available from Amazon? I have a tiny bit of mad money at the moment and thought I might buy it if it was available there. I don't do eBay for several reasons.
Almost last, Has there been a complete set of BotP episodes sold?
Last, which Gatchaman episodes are available in English? I don't do subtitles because I don't see well enough to read subtitles and try to keep up with the stuff on-screen. You all have got me wanting to see the originals now. Heck, if there's a veoh URL for those, I settle for that.
Thanks so much, everyone.

Yup - you certainly does have questions!
The best set of BotP put out was by Madman Entertainment here in Australia. You can find them at Madman and search on Battle of the Planets. All sets except the first one are available - but I'm keeping an eye out for it on Ebay Australia for anybody who is interested.
Gatchaman was released by ADV a few years ago but has now been discontinued. Amazon has some for sale (there is a full set of all discs for about $300 that somebody has there which is a fairly reasonable price). The prices range from reasonable to rip off. I think that the English dub episodes are also on Veoh - but don't know the URL if there is one.
Like you - I prefer to watch the English dubs becuase I'm usually doing something else (eg: embroidering or writing) and can't keep up with the subtitles.
The Gatchaman OAV (1994) is available through Amazon as well - it's the DVD with the plain blue cover and the "G" symbol on it.
The book is by Jason Hofius and is a Battle of the Planets one - I can't remember the title off hand.
Hope that this helps.

I think most of your questions have already been answered!
BOTP was only released as a full set in the UK and Australia. The Australian set has better extras. If you want either set, you can still find them on Amazon and EBay.
The Jason Hofius book is essentially the 'BOTP Bible'. It's officially out of print, but you can still find copies. Amazon has it right now.

If you want to buy the Gatchaman English dubs (released by ADV) rightstuf.com still has a few sets for cheap. For the others, look on Amazon Z-Shops, Half.com and EBay.
HTH!

Thanks so much for the help.
I'll have to check Amazon for the book and the OAV. Unfortunately, I can't buy anything but region one DVD's because all I have is an old DVD player that I know is not multi-region. Oh well, I'll catch up somehow maybe checking veoh for english dubbed episodes is my best bet for the moment.
So Garnet .... Veoh works on your Mac? I have not even tried because so many things are not Mac friendly and I had assumed this would be one of those as well.
Here I am doing the assuming again ....

The OAVs are on Hulu.com under 'Gatchaman.'
You can also read the episode reviews here. We're up to episode 69. A few threads will give you some spoilers for events in the series.
I'm doing episode reviews of 'Battle of the Planets' in the Sandy Frank order. That's over on Gatchfanfic.

Yeah, CD, veoh works wonderfully on my Mac. The image was really high quality and the sound was good. Now I don't know about older Macs. Mine's an iMac that I've had for not quite a year. I'm still learning most of the funtions on it. It wasn't until about three months ago that I learned how to use text edit. I'm not the sharpest tool in the computing shed. My daughter is the guru around here.
Also, I just went and spent ALL the mad money I had at Amazon, but I'm going to be entertained for quite some time.
I have a Macbook laptop with the 1 year old so I suspect Veoh should work on it. Maybe the next time I have a few moments I will check out Veoh and see if I can get it to work. Although once I get my Australian set of BOTP DVD's I should not need to worry.
Text edit? I have Microsoft Office for my system so I have not had to figure out Text Edit.

Text Edit can be useful if you need something that doesn't come with all of that fancy Word formatting... i.e. a plain text document. I used to use it for posting fics to the BOTP list, because it took out all of those weird squiggles and boxes.
Veoh has worked on my iMac, which is about a year older than Garnet's.

Hey Garnet. Alright, I'm not the new guy around here anymore
Looks like everyone has got you set up already but I can add that if you're interested in watching the three OVA movies for free check out www.slashcontrol.com and type in Gatchaman. I'd post the link but haven't gotten my computer skills up to that level yet.

Hope I copied that correctly.
The OVAs are basically the Cliff-Notes version of the whole Gatchaman series. Most fans didn't like them but I thought they did bring something to the table.

So far I don't mind text edit. Of course I haven't tried to post anything I've done in it anywhere yet. We'll see if I have the same good feeling about it after that.
I have the feeling I'm going to have to spring for iWorks soon. My daughter will be getting into higher level writing here in the next year or two and her Macbook doesn't have anything but text edit now either. Somehow she lost her connection to parallels so she can't get to the PC side of thing anymore. My guess is that if she looked with finder she'd get it all back, but I'm trying to discourage the PC side of things even though she likes it bette since that's what she uses at school.
I'm rambling. It's late.

Ooo, thanks. I'm gonna keep that one in mind. She'll be happy and I can still be confident that she's using a better computer, and one less likely to get hit with the virus of the week.
Definitely go with Office for Mac! For the reasons listed above. My sister-in-law recently converted from PC to Mac. My son wants a Mac (he has to earn the money himself) and the only reason I haven't converted is the same one that is keeping me from upgrading my PC -- money, not just the layout for the new computer but also my programs. I love my Adobe Acrobat and the way it links with Office to revert to a shareware pdf writer.
