Journey Arcade game!
Now don't tell me you've never heard of Journey. They were one of the most popular bands of the 80's and the late 70's. With hits like Wheel In The Sky, Lights, Any Way You Want It, Don't Stop Believing, Open Arms, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) and Chain Reaction among others. Well what if I were to tell you that in 1983, Bally Midway made a Journey arcade game? Seriously, they did:

This was also the first game to use digitized graphics, which I don't think were ever used again until the late 80's. The game involves the members of the San Francisco rock band needing to recover their stolen instruments. All 5 members have their own stage, and you hear 8-bit versions of Journey songs in the game. After you get all the instruments back, a tape player in the arcade machine will play a looped cassette tape of Journey's hit:Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), and I mean the real song, not an 8-bit version.
The cabinet artwork for the game is also based on Journey's album, Frontiers, which I think is their best album.

Does Father Guido appear in the game just like he did in many of their videos?

Wow... And I thought, back in the day, KISS was the only band to have a game with their name/likeness (pinball machine, not an arcade game). I had no idea Journey had one!!
Though I have to admit that the only song I was able to make out was "Stone in Love". Guess I've lost my ear for 8-bit tracks over the years......

Thanks Allen. Now I feel old. When I was in high school, when Journey was in their prime, Father Guido was an SNL regular. However, I do have to correct myself, it was not Journey that he appeared in several videos for, it was Jefferson Starship if I'm remembering correctly (which is in doubt since I didn't remember correctly the first time).
