The DaVinci Code

I normally don't follow the bestsellers list, I read what I like, but this one book has completely got my attention. Mainly it was suggested to me for the art content. However the theories behind it and the codes will blow your mind. Always knew DaVinci was different, but certainly not like this. It makes me want to study his art more now. I also need to find my book on symbolism in art. Makes me kind of sorry that I didn't pursue a masters in art history instead of computer animation.
This is one time I decided to follow the crowd on a book and was glad for it.
I especially thought of you Katse. This book has given me a whole new understanding of paganism and wiccan. Would love to discuss some theories with you sometime privately.
Anyway, I am not done with the book yet so if you have read it, try not to contain any spoilers in it for me if you reply.

Indeed, anytime you'd like to discuss these topics (or anything dealing with the esoteric arts, for that matter), just PM me and I'll get right back to you.

I've studied symbolism in a variety of different cultures, and medieval artwork is particularly well-known for its symbolism. DaVinci was merely building on a very old tradition.

Now if you really want to get into interesting symbolism, I know a number of books that you'd absolutely love. One is about the mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau in France. I believe my father has the book (it's been a while since I read it and the name escapes me now), but it deals with treasures, architectural symbolism, Mary Magdalene and religious orders like the Cathars and Knights Templar.

Some that are much more embedded in esoteric theories deal with people channelling energies and psychically examining the stone circles around Britain. The book I read on that ("Spirits of the Stones", by Alan Richardson) absolutely blew my mind--because it made so much sense.

I love talking about this type of stuff--it's one of my main interests. Can't wait for you to start picking my brain!

If anyone else is interested in the "occult" mysteries of the world, just post here. If there's enough interest, perhaps we could open a forum for the discussions instead of keeping them private, that way everyone could participate.

Katse
