Who would you cast in a live action Gatchaman movie?
Sorry if this has been done before, but I was just curious what you guys would choose!
As for me, I think I'd make my SNT a bit older and maybe show them as teens in flashbacks of when they were training if only because it's hard for me to choose teenage actors for each role. Anyway, here we go!
PS:
Matt Bomer as Ken
I've seen this guy in Chuck and the show White Collar and seems like the perfect Ken to me....also since I know how some of the ladies on here are, here's another pic that might persuade you to see things my way:
LOL :p
Karl Urban as Joe
Even though he's almost too old for the role maybe he can still pull it off! He definitely looks the part and he's done both action and more serious movies so he's the best of both worlds.
Summer Glau as Jun
Not only is she beautiful but she's shown she knows how to kick butt in both Firefly, Serenity, and Terminator Chronicles.
Darnit I hit preview, but it posted my thread! I'm still thinking about who to choose for Jinpei and Ryu. To be continued....

Summer Glau (From Firefly/Serenity) as the Swan. I remember an interview with Joss Wheedon where he said that sht was cast becuase of her dance background, which made it possible for them to develop her fighting style.

Ahhhh...swoon...the White Collar guy is the perfect Ken! I posted his pic in a thread around here somewhere...

It is interesting to see how the times change what people think and feel.

Sorry...I just want to drool over RL Ken a bit more...I totally agree with you, John!
Funny thing is, my hubby likes to watch his show. I happened to pass by the TV one night and stopped dead in my tracks to watch. My hubby took one look at me and knew that I was crushing on this guy. He told me to stop drooling- LOL
I don't know if I agree with your Joe. I think that Patrick Swayze back in the "Roadhouse" days would have been a good Joe.

I metioned Patrick Swayze as an older Joe in one of the other threads about it. Roadhouse was a perfect representaion of what Joe would have been like.

I'd cast unknowns, there's a lot of talented actors out there who don't have the baggage of preconceved public opinion following them.

Oh boy... You got me there. Christian Bale might make a good Joe though.

Patrick Swayze or Mel Gibson from his Mad Max days as Joe; now if you want to do BotP Kurt Russell for Jason.

Or a young Josh Brolin... The first time I saw 'Young Riders' I thought I was looking at a real life Jason...
Needless to say I very quickly became a fan of that show....

Oooh, yeah, I'll take Matt Borner for Ken! Carl Urban has the right look, especially the eyes and eyebrows. Since I didn't know who Summer Glau was, I googled her and came up with the following image:
Dead on, Madilayn!

Matt Bomer would make a great Ken! I like!!! No wonder you were stuck at watching him, Springie! I would have done so also ... especially when I can see an Eagle potential! It's funny how much we're interested in a RL character just because he/she resembles our favorite Gatch characters, or others to whom we're attracted! Even the type of character effects me, that is one does not have to have similar facial features, but the way he acts also can remind me of the type of character to which I'm drawn!

My four-year-old recommends casting this "June" for the movie:

I was watching White Collar with my wife and out of nowhere I thought to myself, this guy really looks like Ken. :p
Man, I can't think of who could play Jinpei for the life of me. I'm not very familiar with child actors.
Ok, so as far as Ryu, the only person that comes to mind is Jack Black although I'm not sure if' he'd be right for the part, but damn he looks the part.
George Clooney as Dr. Nambu

Cast Jack Black as Ryu, and you'd have two deadpan snarkers on the team. Joe would be the other one.
They'd have their work cut out for them finding a kid to play Jinpei. He acts his age. Constantly.

Moise Arias for Jinpie. And I'll second Jack Black to play any version of the Owl.

I've had a change of hear on my casting unkowns. I was looking at some screen caps of the crew straining in firebird mode and decided the absoloute best person to play Ryu would be Masi Oka (played Hiro in Heros)

He'd need to wear padding. Or else Ryu is thin in the movie.

How about George Clooney as RI?
