Bionic Commando
Bionic Commando is one of my favorite Capcom games other than Mega Man. I don't like the remake they did for the PSN and XBLA last year though, because the character designs are hideous, and they gave Radd Spencer (the main character/you the player) an artificial arm, and in the original game, he didn't have one, and I have proof too. Take a look at this:
Look at that. There's a human hand holding on to his grappling hook, which is known as the Bionic Arm, so you can see one of the reasons why I was disappointed. And yes, that IS Adolf Hitler you see in the background, because the original japanese version of the game was called Hitler no Fukkatsu, which translates to english as Hitler's Revival, and the plot in the original japanese version was about a former nazi general who's known in that version as Weizman, and he plans to resurrect Adolf Hitler so he can conquer the world, and our hero, Radd Spencer goes out to defeat them. But before the game was released in english, a number of changes were made. The nazis were renamed "The Badds", Weizman was renamed Generalissmo Killt, and Adolf Hitler was renamed Master D. Also, everywhere there was a swastika, it was replaced with an eagle, and the story was changed where Generalissmo Killt sees the plans for a project called The Albatross, and he decides to execute the plans himself, and the Federation, the team you represent, the good guys, send their hero Super Joe to stop them, but he is captured, and now you, Radd Spencer must save him and defeat The Badds. It's obvious why the changes were made, because of the censorship policies back in those days. However, one thing that was kept intact was a gruesome scene at the end where after you blow up a helicopter, and Master D's/Hitler's head explodes. Anyway, enough about the story, this game is lots of fun, and it was also unique, because your character couldn't jump. The music composed by Junko Tamiya is also fantastic, and sucks you right in. And I meant what I said about the remake. I didn't like it for the reasons I mentioned, and I really could care less about the new features they added to the remake. I'm perfectly fine without those, and don't care if they're there or not.
