I saw the headlines for this story on Yahoo and after reading it, I wasn't too surprised that they are thinking of this.

Thank god I can use my mobile to go surfing on the mobile internet if this happens.

A work colleague said that it's worth it, as the money might go to replacing the very old landlines with cable.

If that's true then Г‚ВЈ6 per year might be worth it, but I think it will go to pay the bonuses of the bankers myself.

Or trying to get us out of the massive debt the uk now has especially when you look at the fact BT is responsible for the cable and they are not government owned.
I know originally it was to ensure every home had internet access via a government scheme to buy a computer but guess we will just have to wait and see
