Sucidal MP3

To quote one of my all time heros, Homer Simpson from The Simpsons Sings Blues "I rather have bad luck than no luck at all."

Why, you ask, simply I answer, I never had any luck with technology for one reason or another. I bought aq fantastic MP3, a Creative Zen M 60GB about 3 years ago and it was fantastic until it was stolen from work.

I couldn't use a locker because about 96% of lockers were broken and the rrest were being used, so I had to put it in my jacket pock7et. I think I know who did it but without proof........

Anyway, I bought another one for the same price, about £250 and this one I hid in my rugsack everytime I got to work. And tom make sure the screen and the rest of it didn't get scratched and to protected it from being dropped, I put a screen protector and a silicone cover on it.

I had about 1,000 songs on it and about 70 albums on it.

Well, yesterday, as I was trying to leave work, it decided to do a fantastic impression of a lemming jumping off a cliff and committing sucide by jumping of the Information Desk onto the concret floor. Death2

I think I flooded the entire Wolverhampton area with tears, though luckily my phone had a MP3 on it and some music.

Well today, I had to buy a new MP3 player and it's an I-Pod Touch and hopefully this will last longer than any bit of technology I have.

Sigh.

Springie I had the same first thought.

Met I hope your luck is better with your new MP3 player, I had a bad streak with mine at first too. Now the present one is 2+ years old, and I think it still works.

So Met what do you think of your IPOD Touch?

I am about to get one. I will get it free with the purchase of my new computer.

Sorry for your bad luck Met but here we have a saying that the third time is the right one for sure and I sincerely hope this applies to you!

Nah, not me Gatchamarie, as I don't have even bad luck. Wish I had because then there's a chance that it will turn to good luck.

Attempting to get urse to importing and exporting and syncing music to it. So far, it knows it's AC/DC songs and albums but doesn't have any album cover artwork and I can't seem to put scan and put them on.

It's totally different to both my Blackberry Storm phone and my old broken Creative Zen M MP3 player.

The WiFi will be fine at certain places, exluding the West Midlands version of the Bermuda Triange, the Bloxwich Square.

Will try the MP3 part of the iPod Touch tomorrow..

Wish I could give you some! The truth is I could do with some good luck myself though it's in nature that we are more inclined to see the negative than the positive. But, then, when I hear other people's problems I shut my mouth and think how much of an idiot I am to keep pondering on things that sometimes are insignificant compared to others'. Just to share one story, exactly one year and one week after I bought my new car (which I tried to keep immaculate!), a van smashed it literally against the wall as it was parked in a frequently used car park until I finished from work! From then on things kept on happening one after the other (very good things happened also in the meantime to be honest!)

I had to laugh at your unlucky rabbit comment... I had never thought of it in that way.

Also Met, it appears that you and I have tried the same kinds of MP3 players... my Zen V has lasted for quite some time now.. Good luck with yours.

Oh, Met, I'm sorry for you MP3 pal! I'd freak out if somebody steals mine! I dependent of my favvie songs!

You could load some of your music on the phone! The battery won't last too long and 2 GB is not enough but it's better than nothing!

I hope the new one will have a better fate! You could get a belt case to keep it secure!

I like the Zen and it was in a silcone case which didn't do much to protect it, though I never had a scratch on it.

It's a bit ironic that on the day that my Zen MP3 decided to do a quite good impression of a lemming that I had bought and recieved a Otterbox case for the phone, which should protect it from any impules of being smashed to smitherines.

Yes I can and have put some music on my phone, but the problem is that it hasn't that much room on it for over 2000 songs and there's no way I will buy media cards and open the back of the phone, remove the battery and then swap media cards, put the battery and back of the phone back on everytime I want to listen to different types of music for different types of mood.

This is why I bought the Zen in the first place, put all of my music on one item, so I can pic and choose without messing with phones, batteries and meida cards.

For the phone is only a back up, in case any MP3 players decide to commit sucide, which one did.

I am now off to buy a very tough case for the iPod and before it does an impression of a lemming.

Ahhh the MP3 players and their suicidal tendencies.

Met, I tell you that your iPod Touch will survive such nastiness. I have had mine for about 12 months now, and it has survived Joshua, drops onto tiled flooring, submersion into a beer cooler and a really really wet day on the golf course.

In fact, the iPod techs once told me when I was having problems with the original iPod video to drop it on the floor. I asked him if he was joking and he told me to go ahead and do it -- So I did... and I tell you, it started working perfectly!

Strange, but ... *phew*

Good luck and have heaps of fun with the touch. I love mine and don't think I could survive without it on the bus!!

The only weak part of it, that I've noticed, is the recharging cable. The USB part of it has a tendency to lose its casing ... bugger ... but it snaps back together okay...

Ahhh so you have to use Condor tendencies on the IPod do you?

I have to do that occasionally with my computer when I have a problem with my hard drive.

Submersion in a beer coller? Why? Was it thirsty or were ou trying to get beer in it. If so, then do yoiu know you can get a ipint app?

I am still having a Otterbox Defender case with it, just in case and therefore not taking any chances.

I saw this review for the Otterbox case for the iPhone. iPhone Otterbox case. I have got a case for my mobile phone but I won't be testing it by throwing it out of any windows.........yet.
