Micheal Jackson

Unless you haven't read a paper or listen to a radio or even watched TV yet, then you will know that Micheal Jackson died on Thursday.

Love him or hate him, you have got to admit that he was one of the biggest stars in pop.

He was such an icon in the 80s. And his childhood was so messed up, and all of that super-stardom just messed him up more. I don't condone the things he did later in life, but I do feel sorry for him.

I have to wonder if he overdosed on some kind of caffeine or something, to get himself going for the London shows.

I heard his health was not too good recently...it does make me wonder about painkillers...I guess we'll find out. I loved the Thriller album! Such memories!

I remember when Thriller came out - they played music videos on MTV then - it blew everyone away, including my parents. MJ really did change the world at that moment in time.

John Mayer said something to the effect of MJ being one of the strands of our cultural DNA.

I found out about his death this morning on TV! It was shocking! May he rest in peace!

I remember Michael Jackson being my pop idol from Thriller onwards and all of us girls hung posters on our bedroom walls and attached stickers all over our school diaries! Unfortunately, for me too, he did not stay as one of my favourites due to some of his choices and acts with which I did not agree but I still had a soft spot for him and his music rocked. Just yesterday evening I watched his biography on E Entertainment and at the end I still could not get used to the fact that he is gone! May he and Farrah rest in peace.

PS. Springie .... nice avatar!

I remember being 14yrs old and loving him. I moved onto Jon Bon Jovi after that...He was amazing in what he achieved. RIP Michael.
