Well, it does pretty much confirm what I would have assumed anyway -that the Condor, the Eagle and the Swan are the most popular characters. Most fics (though not all) fics tend to revolve around them as well.
Let's see...
Condor 30%
Eagle 25%
Swan 22%
Berg Katse 7%
Zark 4.5%
Devilstar 3.5%
Owl 3%
Egobossler 1.5%

I've always wondered how Dr. Nambu would do here if he had a clan, though.

But then from comments, everyone loves to hate Zark. So some people are likely to choose Zark just for this reason.
The Owl on the other hand was always over looked.

I agree with you TJ. Unfortunately both characters of Ryu and Jinpei were not given much importance and were described, let's say, a bit awkward compared to the others. Nonetheless, in my opinion, without them Gatchaman could not have existed and the team would have been missing a world of humor and ease that cut through some of the most tense events. Even the brother and sister relationship between the Swan and the Swallow has an important role.
I myself am fond of Ryu and Jinpei but we had to choose one character that we liked best! Sorry all Zarks but I honestly do not conceive the fact that this character could outcome in preference the former two in some way!

I find it scary too that Zark beats out ANYBODY, let alone the Owl and Swallow.
Even Nambu wouldn't be as bad of a choice... and no CD, I'm not changing clans.

I like the Swallow and the Oel as a team! They have some fun together and a bit of awkwardness that makes me smile and giggle when watching the series.

I suppose that Dr Nambu could steal some votes from Zark surely! I also think that it's obvious that our heroes Gatchaman would always stay on top in preference but perhaps, if there was a category just for leaders (excluding Ken as he is Gatchaman), Dr Nambu would surely make it way ahead (presumably!)!
