The Watchmen
On Saturday I went to watch the Watchmen. After the reviews I got from 2 work colleagues, I thought I try it. After spending just over £7 for a packet of revels and peanut M & Ms and a coffee (bloody expensive).
After hearing the first song and watching the first moments, I knew that the film was going to be good and thoughout the film, I was starting to tell myself that it wasn't bad and I may buy it on DVD.
Near the end, when 2 of the heroes were flying to the South Pole, I heard probably the best bit of music ever, Along The Watchtower by Jim Hendrix and at that moment, I knew that I must buy it on Blu-ray (for that reason only, mad I know but heck the scene was good).
The film was good, music was brilliant, plot very good (I am afraid I can't compare it with the book) and it was far better that I thought it was. A bit too long I thought but worth it.

I saw it too, but thought it was way too long... I've never seen anything on Watchmen prior but not a bad movie.

At least on DVD and on Blu-ray, you can stop the film part way for free food, drink and toilet break.

The movie does a great job of covering the book. It's a long read. Dr. Manhattan is not the reason for the ending...that was written in to be more understandable. Any one who puts the film down for its length REALLY needs to read the graphic novel. The film is brilliant (Though I don't understand why they changed the ending at all....oh well)

The BF has the book, but somehow I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, and I keep thinking I should read it before I see the movie. At the rate I'm going, though, I'll be seeing it from Netflix instead of in a theatre...
I loved this film. I've read the graphic novel a number of times, and whilst I would have like the original ending, I understand why they changed it within the context of the movie.
Overall, it was a very worthy attempt at making the graphic novel into a film, with some shots/moments that were lifted straight from the page.
Anyone with a problem with full frontal nudity on bright blue men should probably not see it though :p
I dont think that will be a problem with this crowd. lol
I had tkts to go and see it with hubby and friends but ended up not going because my sister came home on leave last minute and I went out with her instead. From what the OH said, I can wait for the dvd.
A work colleague borrowed the book from another colleague who's a longtime fan and he couldn't get into it, until he saw the film and then went back to the book and just read right through it.
Why I am not too surprise that no ladies here are going to complain about any naked blue men, espeically if they are owls, eagles and condors.
