Owl's Love Interests Week
Yes, it's time for the Owl to show his romantic side!
In Gatch I, Ryu was making progress talking to this girl under a tree in the park before he was summoned to duty. Thanks Springie for the screencap!
In Gatch II, Ryu had a crush on Yuka. Too bad she was more interested in Ken. But when Ryu dove into the ocean at her request and came back with a giant pearl, she warmed to him.
And of course, like all other male members of the Science Ninja Team, he was quite taken by Dr. Pandora. Mary Sue, thy name is Sylvie...
Anyone else want to add something?

Well theere is always the Owls "love" of food.
And of course his concern for animals as well.....
Here is my favourite memory of food and animals, where the Owl and Condor are teamed up. I feel like perhaps the Condor starts to understand, and maybe even appreciates, the Owl a little better in this eps.

I can't recall any other girls, unless there are some in Gatch II or Gatch F episodes that I don't know about or have forgotten. It seems he just isn't appreciated as much as he ought to be!

I have grown to appreciate the Gatch Owl more then I did when I first met him in BotP. I think the space burgers fixation was a turn off. But I guess it's hard to get a girl if everyone who dates your friend ends up dead - none of her sisters or friends to double date with. I also think it would be tough to be Joe's "wing man" in that sense.

To me the Owl is like a big brother. He's cuddly and sweet natured. AND he's never hit Jun!!! So he's more of a gentleman than Joe and Ken.

Another way to look at why the Owl never slapped the Swan ... he is her subordinate, and knows it. It is improper for a subordinate to hit a superiour officer. I like to think he has that kinda relationship with her. He looks out for the team in his own way. Its like he's the quiet observer, knows whats going on around him but its not obvious to everyone else because outwardly he appears awekward at times.
I've seen him with more potential love interests than Ken in Gatch 1. He likes blonds mainly from the girls he's been seen with!

Honestly, if we look seriously at canon, Ryu seems to have far more interest in girls than Ken! He's practically on line with Joe for at least *being* interested.
