Casting Call
I'm sure this has been batted around before, but it also gave me a chance to post a modern Gatchaman team I drew. Now don't get me wrong, I'd never want to see the original character designs looked at with disdain like Classic Trek is looked at by fans today (Heartless scum). But here is a North American comic style team...by me!
Now, Who would you cast in the roles of Gatchaman characters?

Wow, they all look a little edgier and bad-ass -especially Jun and Ryu -but they're still recognizable as their 1970s anime selves too.
And you put a tattoo on Jun but not Joe -bonus points for originality there!
BTW, I like Classic Trek!

I'd definitely go for Summer Glau (from Firefly/Serenity) for Jun. She's a dancer, so has got the grace of movement, the looks, and if you see her in action in Firefly, she looks like she's a great fighter!!
And I've always thought Tilda Swinton (The White Witch from Narnia, and also in Orlando - in fact, when you see her in Orlando playing both a male and female role you'll understand) for Katze.

I have to admit that I think Classic Trek looks cheesy today... but then, isn't that part of its charm? 
I saw a preview of the new Star Trek movie yesterday though, and it is fantastic! And the new Kirk is yummy.... 
As for Gatch actors, I have no idea. I am so out of touch with current acotrs...

I've been watching a lot of Battlestar Galactica lately, and I've been finding myself wondering how the actor who plays Sam Anders might do as a live-action Joe.
His face isn't really right, but there's something there...
