Astro Boy panel at NY Comic Con
For your information...
According to Anime News Network, IMAGI will have a panel about the new Astro Boy movie at the New York Comic Con. The date of the convention is February 8 and the movie's release date is October 23.
I don't know personally anyone who is going but if anyone from Gatchamania.net is planning on attending IMAGI will be sure to have a booth and perhaps more Gatchaman movie news? Athough that might be a shot in the dark because IMAGI is looking for funding.
BTW IMAGI has released a test trailer for Mitsuteru Yokoyama's classic Tetsujin 28 (aka Gigantor) for a proposed movie called "T28". The movie doesn't have the green light for production but IMAGI is finding out if people want to see a movie made.
(Put that on the back burner--work on the Gatchaman movie IMAGI!)

I could go to the NY Comic Con, but I think I'll wait until next year, when Gatch is closer to release (I'm trying to keep a positive attitude here!). If all goes according to plan, I raise my hand and volunteer to be the Gatchamania representative at the NYCC in 2010!
Actually, I think Tony (Raggletag) goes every year. If anyone is in contact with him, maybe he can be our spy, uh, informant, uh, representative this year....

Ah, yes, but to be honest, it's also the same weekend as Westminster... And if I had the money to go to either, Westminster would win out (as shocking as this is, I do have a couple other interests outside of Gatch!) 
Also, I'm still working on possibly attending another Con this year. So I'd like to save my pennies for that, then save my pennies for NYCC next year!

I agree! I hope that after Astroboy, they really get going on the Gatchaman movie (and find the financing that they need to do it!)
My sister has fond memories of watching Astroboy early in the morning every day when she was a college student in the late 80s, but I was in high school and never got up a second earlier than was absolutely necessary (actually, this is mostly still true for me), so I had no time for early morning TV viewing. Nevertheless, I will probably go to see it out of curiousity and to show support for Imagi.
