Star Trek vs Star Wars
Star Trek vs Star Wars is a debate that'll last forever, I've seen a lot of these edited videos, but this is far the best one I've seen.

Pretty good! Should I admit that I know *exactly* which eps those TNG clips came from?

If you know, then I am impressed! I recognized some parts, but couldn't say exactly what eps they were from.
That was really well done, and funny!

TNG in my mind is the best from the Star Trek series, so it's a good match up to the Star Wars series.

That was funny- but I have to admit, I didn't get some of it...I know Star Wars, but not Star Trek...

The original series, to me, has a special status, but I think I like TNG best too (although DS9 is a close second!)

It's funny I love TNG the series, but didn't care much for the movies. I LOVED the TOS movies, but didn't care for the TOS series. Weird, huh?

I liked the TNG movie "First Contact" but the others, to me, were only okay -the TV series was better, I think!
However, my all-time favourite is still "The Wrath of Khan."

I'm the same way... I've only seen some pieces of Star Trek and a movie I think..

I'm with you guys on TNG, probably because that's the one I watched first. TOS just looks cheesy to me now. The movies of both series were off and on. Some good, some bad.
DS9 was pretty mediocre in the first 2 seasons (Weren't all of the new shows that way?) but started to get much better in Season 3, and by the time Season 5 hit I was totally hooked on these 7 ep Dominion War storylines. They really did a great job with that 'ongoing' feel, which you don't really get in any other series (although they made a decent try in Enterprise seasons 3 and 4).

Ummm, sorry. My brain is not working right now... TOS???
All I am coming up with is Trek Of Space or The Other Series.... and I know those are not correct. LOL

I think TOS is "the original series" I agree -it can be confusing.

I think alike! I love shows that are "arc-heavy" and every episode feeds into the next and the whole season becomes one long story. I liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and now Battlestar Galactica for that very reason.
Of course, TV network bigwigs usually think the opposite, claiming that such shows don't attract new viewers or casual viewers because unless you watch every episode, you don't know what's going on. Sigh...

Hi all!
Well, my tastes lean toward the original Star Trek over the sequels. It was the one I saw first (Back when there was no "Next Generation," and even the first movie was still years away), so it holds a special place in my heart. I've watched all the others, but I still find the original characters and stories to be far stronger than those produced since then.
Of course, it's all a matter or personal tastes, so everyone is free to like whichever one they want!

Yes, TOS = The Original Series
With Star Trek, I thinik it's very much a case of 'whichever series you saw first'. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't think the best series is the one they first watched.

To some extent that's true. DS9 had a good balance, becuase even people who had missed eps could catch up with the 30-60 second recap at the beginning of each one.
Lost is the other extreme. I love that show, but there's no way I would understand WTH was going on if I hadn't been watching from episode 1. ABC knows this, so they're often showing 'recap' episodes that take you through a season or more.

I love Lost too, but you're right about missing an episode because of how intricate the story is... thank goodness for TiVo.

To my regret, I've missed out on "Lost" -when it began I was frantically trying to finish my dissertation and kept TV viewing to an extreme minimum, and then I never really got the chance to catch up with it.

Thank you LB an TJ. I knew I should have know what it was.
Maybe I can blame it on all the grey skies and snow falling today...
Oooops, I just hear the snow plow going around. I guess I had better go out and check to see how deeply the end of the drive is plowed in.
