Twilight
I was majorly disappointed in this movie. They left out all the vital part's of it, Edward looked nothing like they described him in the book. Bella's lullaby is all wrong. Everything about it just pissed me off!

I've never read the book, but I found the acting odd and the movie ok... My friend who has read all the books and saw it with me was majorly disappointed in the movie. She told me it was nothing like the book and all the important parts were left out...
And of course every little girl in the theater was squealing every time Edward showed up it was quite disturbing at times...

I haven't read the books or seen the movie, but my sister has just finished reading the first book, Twilight, and now she's really after me to read it too, as she enjoyed it a lot (although she hasn't seen the movie yet either).
I do plan to borrow her copy and read it sometime soon, so I can see what all the excitement is about. I saw one of my nieces this summer, and she also told me I should the books!
All this talk is raising my interest in this story.
I gather it is about vampires? I may have to go look it up in Google and see what they have to say about the story and plot.

The books are pretty good (parts are fabulous, parts are just 'okay' and the first book in particular is quite romantic.
I've heard bad things about the movie, to the point where I don't think I want to see it.

The movie was the worst film made since the start of all films! The only reason I would suggest watching the move is to appreciate the book's even more. That would be the only reason. You see how bad the movie is you will want to stick to the book.

There are movies, which are base on books that will miss out a lot of stuff, just look at the Lord Of The Rings films. They may be good but they did miss out a lot of stuff and had to change a bit of it as well.
The same thing could be said about the Harry Potter books. I have read all the books and seen the films and they have either change bits of the films and miss out several chunks from the books.

Saw this movie the first weekend and found it to be ok. I haven't read any of the books , so I had nothing to compare it too. Shamrokchick I SO understand what you mean about the squealing teen in the theater. I just wanted to them upside the head for their comments. It made me cringe thinking about how I was back at that age now.

He he, I went to the the first POTC film at the cinema and all the girlies were squealing whenever Orlando Bloom appeared on screen. My friend, who is not in touch with the younger generation, didn't work out that it wasn't Johnny Depp getting the screams.
I read one review of Twilight, from a newspaper reviewer who undoubtedly has not read the book, and he enjoyed it. He enjoyed its muted palette, serious rather than tongue-in-cheek approach, and update on the old theme of good girl meets bad boy. He doesn't seem to like all that many films. Since I'm unlikely to get around to reading the book or seeing the film, I am not in a position to judge.

at times it can be lonely if you are the only person there (I think that has happened to me) but in the first week, then there are couple of people there.
If it's anything like the Harry Potter films, then there are kis with parents or sometimes without parents, (probably skipping school).

I haven't read the Twilight books or seen the movie, but after all this talk, I think you've piqued my interest. I'll hold off from seeing the movie though.... Seems like every time a feature film is made from a book/series, it's never as good as the original writing. HP, Devil Wears Prada, etc. JMHO!

I just saw the Twilight movie tonight with my sister, who is currently reading the fourth book in the series (and is still after to me start reading the books too).
Edward is certainly very, very nice to look at, but I'm not sure I really bought that he and Bella would be so strongly and instantly smitten with each other (but I suspect that there's much more detail in book that couldn't easily be conveyed on screen). Nevertheless, beautiful scenery shots, vampire stuff (always interesting to me) and Edward to stare at, so I was entertained! And I do want to read the book when I get a chance.
LB, you'll enjoy the first book... *very* swoony! I was almost inspired to write a fic (Gatch fic, not vampire) because the swooniness was so inspiring...
