Here's a good example of not looking before you leap.
I had ordered the Gatchaman movie from Animeballz.com. The site stated that it was region free. However, it wouldn't play in my DVD player. Since it was under $10 and my DVD player is an older model I just gave the DVD to someone. At the end of September, I ordered a couple of Manga books for a friend for Xmas as their listed price was lower. They promised delivery within 5 to 10 business days. After some time I wrote to ask where my order was. They wrote to say they were out of stock but would send them as soon as they came in. One book I ordered came in. I have not seen any of the rest for weeks now.
I've tried to going to their website but now it has been shut down! So I've now I lost a bit of money from this no-good swindling bunch of bastards! They have the money and I feel really stupid.
DO NOT SHOP FROM ANIMEBALLZ.COM! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!
A warning to all: be careful of online stores. It may seem a bargain but it isn't if you don't get what you paid for.

Condorfan, I understand how frustrating this can be. Have you contacted your credit card company? File a dispute with them. Tell them that you paid the money but never received the merchandise, and they should refund your money while THEY go after the sellers. I have had to do this a few times, and the credit card company is always good about it.
Which Gatchaman movie was it? OAV or the 1978 movie?

Should be easy, I've never even heard of the place! I only buy from RightStuf and Amazon most of the time. If you find a DVD at a store you've never heard of, try looking it up on Resellerratings.com. It helps a lot!
Condorfan, speaking as the one that you sent the movie too, I had a friend check it out and they said the thing didn't have anything on it. The place is a total rip off, and if you would need the movie back for refund purposes I will send it too you.

I'm sorry to hear about this Condorfan... I agree with TJ, if you call the credit card company and file a dispute, they're usually pretty good about resolving these things. The only place I've bought dvd's online from is Amazon.com, I haven't tried any place else.

Some years ago, I was trying to track down an admittedly obscure CD, and an online company claimed to have it, so I ordered it, and they charged my card, but then weeks went by with nothing delivered... I was lucky though, that when I eventually sent them an email, complaining, they did refund the charge.

I just wanted to add a epilogue to this thread. I did contact the bank and was able to get a full refund.

I've bought lots of things online, both stores and EBay. The only real problems I've had is customs, which can double the cost of the item.
