Has anyone seen this before? I was looking for anime snow pics, and stumbled across this...
The only info I can find is that it was done by Yoshitaka Amano...but it's a little "off" in design...

Yeah it looks like one of Amano's gallery pics. Not too long ago I was trying to see if I can find some of Amano's original Tatsunoko artwork, and this was some I found. It dates back a few months ago.

As I understand it from the information I've gathered here and there. Tatsuo Yoshida created the concept and some of the characters, while Amano primarily designed Jun, the Bird outfits, Berg Katse (I recently uncovered a joke about a certain FF boss he designed being a parody of Berg Katse) and a lot of the villains, the designs he did was then redrawn into Yoshida's art style.
Amano's style was REALLY different back then. But then he's so revered in Japan because he was doing Gatchaman at 15-16 years old. Things like Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy was done well into his late 20s

Fixed the second link, I merely added an extra v when I pasted it. It's a scan from one of his artbook
I'm sure there's someone who knows the story better than I do, or knows the specifics better, but I know it worked something along those lines.
