FTR, LB, the first episode has Joe's shower scene, but if you want to see some Condor 'action' (not the Rubber Room kind) episode 3 has a great scene toward the beginning where the Galactors storm Joe's trailer...

I haven't seen the OAVs in long time, but I recall the fight scene at Joe's trailer is really well done -I'll have to watch it again too!
(now, if only OAV Joe's face looked more like the original Joe...)

I think they must have been reinventing Gatchaman for a new generation (aka Star Trek Next Generation) since the style used in the Gatchaman OVA's is standard in anime now. But I agree that Joe should have looked more like the original.

Well, it's not much of a tilt... I think it's more that there's absolutely NO Jun/Ken tilt at all, and there's that one scene in the third episode, where Joe staggers up to the rest of the team, and Jun's eyes fill with tears when she sees him. That's pretty powerful emotionally, and makes you wonder. But that's the only Joe/Jun hint I see.
Do you have other examples?

Yeah I think it's a lack of Jun/Ken interaction that makes it more noticeable... There doesn't seem like there's a lot of character interaction like there is in the tv series...

I think that's my general problem with them Shamrok -- there isn't enough interaction between all of them in general . . . and nothing in particular that makes their relationships a whole or as pairings of any kind have much depth. To be fair, it's really hard to do that in three episodes like that.

You know. They could quite easily have updated the "look" of the team, yet still kept the original facial structure of the boys/gal...
I loathe the new look that they received in the OAV ... Ken looks like a squirrelly, rat faced ick with an overbite, and Joe looks more native (not that there is anything wrong with that) than Italian....
I won't begin to comment on pink suits, multi coloured hair, naked transmutation scenes and bouncy-yet gravity defying porno boobs ....

OR -- for the more gutter minded individuals -- did you check out the picture of Jun in the credits ... lounging on the bed or whatever with her lipstick? Yeah. Have a quick glance at it and surmise what *you* think she's about to do with the lipstick.
Both Flash and I gasped as soon as we saw the image and he asked if this is what "hentai" is???
Then we looked harder at the pic and realized that it was quite innocent....
Anyhoo. The animation and what-not was sharp and pretty awesome, but the characters looked bloody awful.
I got the impression that Ken not only had no interest what-so-ever in Jun, but that he barely knew she was even on the team. To me he came across as really detached from them ...
I felt no connections between any of them TBH -- not even Jun and Jinpei. She seemed more annoyed by him than the motherly figure I was used to seeing.
But that is my opinion.
I still prefer the look of the original ...
