I hate being a fan
...to qualify , I hate being a fan without a large disposable income.
As you know, I've only recently added this fandom to my fandom collection and as such I'm just getting round to looking at, well stuff. Ive just spent an hour in the TATSUNOKO on line shop and discovered things I never knew I needed.
This morning I didnt know I needed, gatchaman tool box, lunch box, cup, fork holder......I need a hooded top, a long sleeve top and a T-shirt. .. A bag , a mini towel and a keyring. I dont smoke but I may start so I can buy a zippo lighter.
Ive just put flights / hotel for dragon con on the credit card as well. Quite frankly its unlikley my family will get anything other than an I.O.U scribbled on the back of an old envelope this Christmas.

And FWIW, I know how you feel. There are so many Gatch things I would love to get and can't. I try to limit myself to certain TYPES of collectibles, but still, you can't have it all.
Wait... did you say there's a Gatchaman *tool* box???? I hadn't heard of that one!
Hmmmm.... I think DH needs a new tool box....

You definately shouldnt go and look at stuff and then try and justify buying it. 
I for one think a 30cm x 30cm towel is just what a women needs when getting out the bath. It snowed this morning (for 5mins and then melted) so I need a hat.

I hear where you're coming from Veritas. I've fallen into the financial abyss of being a fan. Star Wars, Star Trek, Comic Books, collectible dolls, china, etc. It might stem from this age of consumerism many of us were brought up in. I try to think do I really need it such an item--but I must say when I'm at a convention my frugalness tends to go out the window!
