Mechas and Captains Week

It looks like the majority vote was for the Galactor Captains. (Maybe next week we can return to the good side LB.Smile)
So who wants to get started and post some screen caps. of their favourite Captain?
I am still trying to decide if there is one that stands out over the others.

I'm trying to think which Captain had the most ridiculous outfit...so many too choose from!

Okay, I'll pull some from my ER screenshots.

Here we have a fellow who wants to join the Village People:

This guy attempts to pull one over on Jun. I don't think so.

Here, the Condor approaches what Galactor seems to think is a tank:

Egobossler thought this slug mecha was pretty cool:

The individual pieces of the Gatchaspartan shoot at a flying panther mecha:

In Gatchaman II, this was the Galactor-created gateway to an alternate dimension:

Best of all, it's the ultimate mecha: the space ship pencil!

Now who was it who was talking about a Stargate/Gatch crossover?
I see the Stargate already exists. It would not be much to see one of the Stargate teams popping through this. Wink

These are good nasty guys! Makes me wonder what sort of horrid costume the captain of the slug mecha had to wear. Do you think it was slimy and had no legs? And I love the Stargate. That is comedy.

I wish had technical skills so I could find and post this myself . . . isn't there an EP where Ken dresses up as a Mecha Captain? The one with the prisoners.

Actually, Egobossler had two henchmen: Mechandor and Kempeler. Those two pretty much operated all of the mecha, so there were no freaky captain of the week costumes in Gatchaman Fighter, AFAIK. Instead, they had many more freaky mecha than in Gatchaman II (where the emphasis was on building bases).

Yes. Yes there was.

You're right that most of the Captain roles in Gatchaman Fighter were filled by Kempeler and Mekandor, but there were a few that did appear. Specifically, we have as follows:

From Gatchaman Fighter #20, the Captain of the Iron Beast Devil Trippler.

From Gatchaman Fighter #21, Garios, the Commander of the Secret Base on BC Island.

From Gatchaman Fighter #27, the Ski Patrol Captain.

And, while he wasn't quite a Captain, Gatchaman Fighter #20 also had this Gallactor Chief.

None of these episodes appeared in Eagle Riders, so you wouldn't have seen any of them there. Well, okay, parts of Gatchaman Fighter #27 appeared in Eagle Riders, but none of the scenes with the Gallactor Ski Patrol, just the big mecha fight scene from the end of the episode.

I've found a few to add.

LB for some reason one of your pictures is posted on top of another. I have never seen that happen. (Have you learned to do something new?) Winknudge

Edit: Forget that, it fixed itself when I reloaded the page. *Cloud slaps head and gives a Homer Simpson "Doh!"*

Thank you, James! I had no idea about those captains. But I did have an idea that if I was wrong in any part of my statement, you would be there to fill in the missing pieces. Thank you! Smooch2

Bozo the clown/mecha commander is a true classic!

I found some more, but they're thumbnails.

I'm not Meg (Nor do I play her on TV), but that Captain is from Gatchaman #54, "Gatchaman's Burning Rage" (AKA "Raid of the Red Scorpion" or "The Vengeance," for the BotP and G-Force inclined).

Trust me I still do. Anyone who can write stories like you do MUST have secret abilities. Wink

Really? Is this the guy Ken harassed with the fire extinguisher? I haven't seen that ep in ages (somehow, Ken being upset about RI's death makes me feel nauseous) but now I'm curious...
