Hi!

Hello all,

I figured it was about time I shuffled up and signed on. I'm tatsunokofan's wife. I'm not much of a social butterfly, but I am a stark raving BotP fan; I think the two balance each other out here. Wink And as you can probably tell, I don't mind old Zark. He's OK, really.

I can tell I haven't convinced anyone; I can hear the crickets chirping.

But considering that one of the only two fanfics of mine that are posted anywhere is the one titled Small Room , which focuses on the weird little world of 7-Zark-7, I figured that there was little point in pretending I belonged in any other "clan" here. So up the count another funky robot. If there'd been an icon for 1-Rover-1 I might have chosen that one, just to be silly. Anyhoo, hullo and greetings to all! Smile

It's wonderful to see you here, Barrdwig! welcome And I must say it was a pleasure meeting you (and James, of course) in San Diego as well. Hug I'm glad that peering over his shoulder has convinced you to come by and say Hello!

I did not know that you had written Zark fics! I will have to go check out Small Room. Is it on the Gatch Fanfic Archive?

Yes, it is! (Thanks to Julieann, who very kindly posted it when I was buried under a pile of Life Being Difficult.) It should be listed under my screenname now. I had some fun writing it Big Grin even though I know Zark gives people hives.

Hi Springie! Thanks to you and Transmute Jun for the warm welcome! Smile

Welcome Barrdwing!

Wave2

I read in your "How did you come to Gatchaman" post over at the Archives forum, that you first met fellow BOTP/Gatch fans at the 1997 Comic Con. Is that how you met Tatsunokofan?

Sigh, my BF has watched a grand total of two Gatchaman episodes, ever.

Posted by Barrdwing on 11-08-2008 at 15:24:

Thanks for the welcomes! Smile Ebonyswanne: ooo . . . a fic idea? Who knows what it might spark? <heehee> A Zark week? Cool idea! lborgia88: Yup, I met James at GatchaCon '97. He was actually part of the group that I first approached. I guess the fact that I was so jazzed to find fellow fans that I could barely articulate simple sentences didn't scare him off . . . . But, in the weird way that these things work, we didn't start dating for three years. No particular reason . . . I was just clueless . . . we'd been good friends all that time, but I was just clueless. Lol It's a good thing he's patient!

And yeah, it really is cool having a spouse who understands what all the fuss is about. Smile

Welcome Barrdwing, nice to see you here and nice seeing you in San Diego. I did not know you wrote any BOTP stories. I know I read about half of "Small Room" but for some reason never finished it. (If I am thinking of the correct story.)

And no it is not because it featured Zark, I can actually cope with him, it is when he and Susan is on that I start to run. Pimp3

Sooo your other persona is the Eagle from Gatchaman! Laugh1

OK here it is...

Who is Susan really??? I bet she's not a robot but a beautiful woman messing with his mind to get to the Condor...
But Zark discovers Susan's love for the Condor and jealous robot starts plotting... (How do you like it so far?)

Wave2 Welcome Barrdwing! I'd explain about the madness here, but since you're James' wife, there really is no reason to. Especially since you've met quite a few of our GatchaFriends IRL, so you know how, uh, "interesting" we are! Wink3

And I guess we can give you a pardon for being a Zark. I suppose the tin can has to have some fans! Plus you've written a fic about him, which sounds rather fun. I need to find it and give it a read!

I'm glad that you've joined us! Happy

Hmm! Interesting . . . that Susan would have to be a bit of a hussy, considering some of the incredibly suggestive things Susan says to Zark in the series. (How did that get past the censors when perfectly reasonable violence didn't? I mean, even as a kid I thought she was terribly forward! She freaked me out--it was like listening to Mighty Mouse sing. Spooked ) But then again, that kind of character would be both ruthless enough to string Zark along like that and bonzo enough to use such a sneaky means of getting at her real quarry.

I haven't even begun to get into what or who Susan might really be in fanfic, so the playing field is wide open. I'll have to keep that option in mind. <wanders off to think a bit>

<resurfaces> The Eagle? Errrk . . . but I pay my tab! Really! Wink

Well if you want a twist I'll help you with it...nothing like a good twist in the story...

I guess I used to think Susan had to be a real girl when I was kid because of how she used to talk to Zark...

What if she decides Princess is competition for because of how he goes goo gah about her... And then the Eagle has to save her from Susan's wrath...

Ohhh, I completely agree with that statement, why do you think I latched onto an Eagle while there numbers were down. Unfortunately now that the Eagle numbers are going up. I am beginning to feel a little deserted. Sad1

I can see Ebony's mind working on her next fic.

I don't know how Ebony keeps so many going at once! I can only really work on one at a time...

I've usually got multiple fics "in the works", but the biggest problem I have with that is when the darned things start fighting! I'll be trying to work on one fic, and an idea will pop up for another one and I'll have to go and write that down . . . or else find it shoving its way into a storyline where it really doesn't belong. Rolleyes Generally, unless I sit down and work out the outline "visually" (meaning in images rather than sentences), I have a terrible time getting the storyline to proceed in an orderly manner. So it's very annoying to be struggling with one story, and have an image-string for another one pop up. <chuckle> But it's better than not being able to get images at all. On those days there's a lot of Cussing going on over here.

A couple of fics have come from crazy dreams. Those were easy to finish!
