My method of dealing with telemarketers is to simply not answer the phone. If it's important they'll leave a message (although the fact that my boyfriend has the answering machine message set to "French" instead of "English" probably scares some callers away here in the US), and everyone who knows me calls my cell phone.

But my method is boring, this one is funny!

Just wet myself.

Sometimes at work, if I know couple of department managers and the store manager isn't there then everytime people ring the canteen or warehouse, I always say "Chinese resturant." or something like that but that is better.

I do know that America has their own version of Homebase called The Home depot and I dare anybody to ring them up or their country's version of Homebase and The Home Depot and ask for silly things like triple sided cellatape, non stick glue, solar powered batteries and tartanc coloured paint and any others that you ccan think of.

Is there some reason we need to CALL Met?

I have walked in and asked for the solar powered batteries. I need them for my solar powered lights. Wink

Actually I know I need rechargeable batteries but still ...

...and is this what you like to do in your spare time, Met?? I would think you would get enough of these questions while working your shift! Biglaugh1

No I don't make phone calls to DIY places asking for silly things that they don't know whether or not they sell, but often I get people who are suppose to have much better sight than me asking me where stuff is or where the trolleys are though with the trolleys, they are right outside the front of the store.

One of the few questions that are asked is "Do you work here?" With our old bright green and orange uniforms with name badges on them that say Homebase, I am just amazed about that question. Same thing with our uniforms now, which are black and do have Homebase printed on them as well as our name badges.

LOL! That's right up with when I used to work in the library... People would walk in all the time and stop at the circ desk with that confused look on their face...

"May I help you?" I would ask.
"Uh, yeah." replied perplexed student. "I need a book."
I would then plaster the sweetest smile on my face and reply as evenly as I could, "Well, you came to the right place!"
