See ya later, Alligators!
Wish me luck, baybees...I am leaving tomorrow to spend a week with the in-laws. UGH. What a way to spend my lovely Spring Break...grumble, groan...
Anyhoo...I'll be MIA for a while... and suffering from terrible internet withdrawal syndrome...
Can anyone slip me something that will knock me out for a week?

Oh no! Poor Springie! I'll send the COndor over to knock you out and drag you off. I suspect his intimidating glare will be enough to frighten off your in-laws...

In-laws and no internet? Ooh. Any chance that you'll be able to at least read a good book while you're away?

Big fan of internet-free week here! Helps us appreciate it more, and keep things in balance.
Not a big fan of week with the inlaws when you don't enjoy their company.
This too shall pass.
Cheers!

Have a good stay there Springie!
Internet free week...
You have to take me on a camping trip for that to happen...

Seems rattlers are getting into more than just sleeping bags these days... I saw this story on the news this morning...
Snake in Luggage
Why on earth would you leave your suitcase open outside in the hills of South Carolina???

Rattle snakes can be nasty!
I have seen baby black snakes run across my in-laws verandah...
I used to have a cat that would hunt snakes when I was a kid... she killed a red belly that was in our the yard close to where we were playing... mum freaked out.
We lived close to bushland at one point... when I was little.
I hate them...they send shivers up my spine.

I was very happy to grow up in Nova Scotia, where there are no poisonous snakes or spiders! Heck, there wasn't even any poison ivy. But, I did get bitten by a leech while swimming in a lake, and stung by a jellyfish while snorkeling at a seaside beach. The leech, that was gross, but the jellyfish didn't sting too much. There were also lamprey eels in the rivers, but I never heard of anyone being bitten by one.
Oh wait, and then there were all the mosquitos and blackflies...
Upon reflection, Eastern Canada really does have some dangerous creatures.
I didn't have many run-ins growing up in the wilds of northeast New Jersey. Though when I went camping in the western part of the state, I did have to be mindful of the water moccasins and, in early spring, the bears.
Florida, though, that was an entirely different story...

Oh I hear ya Hino! Florida was an eye opener for me...poisonous critters everywhere! I found the fire ants to be the biggest problem, they seemed to be everywhere. And they seemed to really like chomping on me! Nasty! Nasty creatures!

For me, it was Portuguese man o' war jellyfish. I first heard of them when my then-roomate and I visited her grandparents in Boca Raton in 1992. Swimming at the beach during the day wasn't a big deal, as I figured I'd see them in the water if there were any around, but then I got talked into going swimming at night. Nothing happened, but I was very nervous!
HELP!! HELP!! These in laws are worse than snakes, jellyfish, spiders and... uh...mecha! Teehee...yeah, that's it...lol
I was actually happy to see them all go fishing today so i could sneak in some computer time and gain a little sanity back! (actually, I've written quite a bit for my Condor Smut...and i am just getting to the smut...although the circumstances in the story won't make it too smutty) Ah...I can't wait for ...just a few more days!
