Question Is there subtitled Gatchaman II aviable on DVD?

I'd love to see it, but can't find it. May be even as Gatchaman F, or Eagle Riders.

The Eagle Riders can be found on Amazon. I doubt about Gatch F. I placed an order long ago, but have got no reply. I just guess they're out of stock!

Gatch II and F are available with Japanese subtitles (Japanese region) DVDs only. There are some fansubs out there with English subtitles, but they are bootlegs.

I recently got the entire Eagle Riders series on DVD from EBay, although that, too, was a bootleg set.

Just to clarify, none of the Japanese releases of Gatchaman II or Gatchaman Fighter have any sort of subtitle/caption options, not even in Japanese. Japan really doesn't seem to go out of its way to help their handicapped. Just ask anyone in a wheelchair who needs to rely on the trains to get anywhere. Stairs everywhere at their stations!

So, if you were thinking of using them as a means to get the dialogue in a text format to translate, they'll be of no help. Both series have been released in Taiwan, dubbed into Mandarin, with optional Chinese subtitles, if that will help anyone. At least those sets are supposed to be Region 0, so they could be played on DVD players in North America!

As far as an official dubbed/subbed release in North America goes, there isn't one, and doesn't appear to be one on the horizon. Fansubs are pretty much your only option, if you can track them down, and I don't believe anyone has done the entire run of either series.

I've been doing some reading about fansubbing, and familiarizing myself with various programs and the like. I've even gone as far as getting software to help me learn Japanese... I don't know where I'll go with this... But it does seem interesting... It would be great to do a fansub of 2 and f, if I had the resources available...lol

Nope. Just 105 episodes of original Gatchaman goodness, Wink

I was hoping that the publishers would get more in.But with the original box set being discontinued due to the economic failure we are in,I highly doubt they'll bring it in on DVD.I just hope they get the sereies on Blu-ray then.Less boxes, more stuff to cram in the Blu-ray disc.

I had no idea this set existed. It's not Gatchaman II, but I heard they didn't do a whole lot of changes in the way of story other than the names of the characters

I think I'm going to pick it up! Smile

Just so you know, you're not going to get anything different on this that you don't already have on the ADV discs. Well, I guess the subs might be a little more confusing... Wink

Oh, I was talking about the Eagle Riders set.

I've been trying to find a way I can watch Gatchaman II with english subtitles, and the Eagle Riders set that Meg linked to is probably the closest I will get.

Smile
