Be careful what you wish for!

Well I know I said that it would be nice to experience a white Christmas...

But just a few minutes ago a storm went through Sydney, and we has hail the size of tennis balls drop on us like a tone of bricks... Sirens have gone off all over the place!

DH had a Doona ready to go out and throw over the car but it was too late...He would have been injured if he did it came down that hard and fast.

The baby loved it, she loves storms!

It now had small dents all over it

So now I have had a white December...

I'll post some pics for you of Ebony's white Christmas.

Thats no good, nothing to compare scale with.

But I `have` seen hailstones the size of golfballs (and the odd one bigger)

How do they stay up long enough to form?

Oh Ebony I'm glad your DH didn't go out in that! I've been caught outside with baseball sized hail coming down. We were camping out west (Northern Saskatchewan) for a family reunion. My cousins, brothers and I got quite a few cuts and bruises before we managed to get into my dad's old van. Thank god he left it unlocked. I remember the one that hit me in the head (hurt like hell) and the noise of them bouncing off the bare metal roof of the van...absolutely terrifying!

To bad it could not have come with a gentler kind of strength.

WOW, those hailstones are pretty huge! It use to hail here during autumn, but the hailstones were half the size, and it would cause lot of damages when happened!

Broke my windows twice plus destroyed the flowers from the porch. Nasty!

Ouch! Those are pretty big hailstones! Glad you guys are ok and sorry about the car... I noticed your flowers seemed to make it through ok though.... (strange for this Northern Hemisphere girl to see flowers growing and leaves on trees in the middle of December!) Big Grin

We had news crews all over our area, we were the worst hit apparently, the house across the road from us had all the Chrissy lights smashed.

My annual flowers were not so good afterwards...

It all melted pretty quick and it was just hot and steamy afterwards. DH will have to get up on the roof and check out a broken tile, the car is damaged and we'll have to get it fixed...

I just laughed at the irony of all

Ebony, you should tell your DH that the hailstones were divine retribution for deleting your files.

rain Laugh2

P.S. Not to make light of the damage done - I'm glad no one was hurt by the hailstones.

Sosai your comment was the first one I read and for some reason it cracked me up laughing...

I guess I laughed a little because if I didn't I would have cried...$550 excess is not needed right now!

I guess we will be getting footage of blizzards in the UK and US in January...

We always do...I'd hate to stuck in a snow storm, it would be worse then the storm I was stuck in with Caitlin the day before out in the car, I had to pull over it was so blinding with rain and lightning. I was scared and I normal am O.K driving in a storm...

You had very precious cargo with you Ebony, that's why you were scared. baby2

Well if it's any consolation, my mum's car and both of my brothers' cars had to have repairs done all in the same week....not good timing with Xmas, but then again a big repair bill never is...censored

Would the homeowners' insurance cover any of your repairs, Ebony? Huggles

OTOH, you could keep the dents in the car and say that they are damage for Galactor bombs. Your DH drives a G2, so that would be believable, right? Wink
