Hello Hello!

Just thought I would say a big hello to all our members and lurkers alike. Thought the news page could do with a wee update since its been like this since the heady days of Fic Library which I might add has been a complete success breakdance

Hope your all doing well in the run up to Xmas. Santa

Just to make you all aware I do frequent the boards on a daily basis to make sure you are all fine and dandy however I have been veeeery busy studying for my ZCE and MCITP/MCPD/MCTS.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I do want to let you know why I've not been around. Most of my time has been taken up with my mother. Her health took a turn for the worse near the end of August, and we almost lost her in early October, when she fell into a coma. The doctors managed to stabilize and wake her, but she is too ill for any treatments to stop her cancer. It's moved into her remaining breast and is causing her skin to break open in sores. So she's still in the hospital so they can manage her pain. I'm trying not to think about the possibility of this being her last Christmas with us. It's difficult, but I'm hanging in there, even if it's by the skin of my teeth. My studies in traditional Thai medicine help keep me focused on something other than my mom, which is probably keeping me sane.

If I don't get a chance to say this later, I want you all to have a:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
and
A HAPPY, HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

We just had two deaths in the extended family (DH's mom's side in Shediac and Dieppe) in the last week or so...

My condolences. My "Mother" has B cell Lymphoma, and she's been fighting it for 8 years. I know it can be tough. We think this will be her last holiday as well. I wish you all the best. And I'm sure I speak on behalf of the forum when I say that we are here for you. By the Way, Cep, Those exams are already passed. You just gotta take them.
