Gatchaman's 35th Anniversary

Hi all!

Since no one else seems to have noticed it, I figured I should point out that today, October 1st, is the 35th Anniversary of the premiere of Gatchaman in Japan! It's also the 29th anniversay of the premiere of Gatchaman II, and the 13th Anniversary of the release of the first volume of the Gatchaman OAVs, So Gatchaman certainly has a lot to celebrate today! Happy Anniversary!

Oh, so you want an anniversary present too, eh? Well, the Tatsunocommunity page of the Tatsunoko website has a free Gatchaman-themed wallpaper available for downloading this month. It can be found toward the bottom right-hand side of the page at:

Tatsunocommunity

So, go watch a Gatchaman episode or two to celebrate!

James

Thanks for the information, James. I had no idea!

The desktop is just a little too... red... for me, though. I think I'll stick with my current one. But it is a nice pic!

Thank you for the information Tat.

I did not know it was that old. Almost the same age as me. I must have first seen the show 10 years later. Well the American incarnation.

Another reason they live for 250 years in my universe. At 35 years they are still 'children', in Rigan eyes. Age of majority is 75 years.

Do they mentain that aging rate when they came to Earth?

Yes, of course, or else they would not be the young Birdies I remember them to be. giggle

Because they never aged, I had to have them retire, other persons on Earth were noticing. They are training new recruits or going on undercover missions. They will occasionally go out as the "blue team" but only when other teams are unavailable, injured or a full assault is required.

There are 4 other teams, animal/bird related but it will be a long time before you read about them.
That is judging by the speed I write and post.
