New Membership Proposals (de-ja-vu)

Ok just so we get this straight! Big Grin

Here are the proposals that were lost,

Guests
Guests will now have restricted viewing access of the forums and threads.

Only the Speak up! sections will be available to read.

New Registrations
Any new registration must be activated within 5 days of the registration date. If the registeree does not complete the activation process or does not contact the administration should they have problems within this period then the account will be deleted.

New Members
New members must make their first post within 5 days of activating their account failure to do so will result in the account being blocked.

On issue of the inactivity block notice the recipient has 5 days to contact the administration to lift the block otherwise the account will be deleted.

New members are required to reach newbie level (25 posts) within the first weeks of their membership (1 month) in order to establish themselves as part of the community. Failure to reach this level in the allotted time will result in an inactivity notice being sent to the member if after failing to respond to this notice or the member has not contacted the administration the account will be set as inactive and blocked.

New members will not be able to use the arcade until they reach the minimum requirements of 10 posts (New modification will do this).

Established members
Established members will be issued inactivity notices if they do not post at least once in a 2 month period (8 weeks). If the member then does not respond to the inactivity notice their account will become blocked.

Important Note:
Blocking is not a ban, when an account is blocked it is reduced to the status of a guest with some extra abilities such as the use of the search engine and PMs.

To unblock an account simply contact the administration either by PM or Email.

Ok as this is something I didn't write down, is this correct and everybody ok with it? Big Grin

Well, from a user standpoint, still think 25 in a month is high -- leads to lots of tiny posts that aren't that interesting when you've a huge backlog to read -- but we've been through that, and technical ease outweighs user convenience, esp for a volunteer-run system.

Other than that, looks fine to me. It's not like we have to do anything difficult to get unblocked, or that we lose anything other than a quick way to tell our friends that we're out of the hospital -- and a PM to a friend will solve that.

So, yeah, I vote let it stand.

Eh, they still have the opportunity to respond to a notice, so I say:

Is Poifect. Three cheers for an admin willing to please!
