Unfinished fic's!

You know when are writing a fic and it is ALL there in your head and you just wasn't it DONE, but the story refuses to let you cut any of it out just to shorten it!

Yep I'm in the middle of trying to finish one, I have tried to cut out one chapter so I don't have to type it up.

Damn it! agggghhhhh!

Well I just want it done now so I can move on to the next one and finish it too...I'm not good at short cuts!

I have how ever posted the next chapter of the story so that at least feels a bit better... Newbie2

I know EXACTLY how you're feeling Ebony. Headache

Next time I write a fanfic I take TJ's advice and finish it before posting. Or go with the fanpics. They're so much easily and funny to make.

I ended up sending the chapter to TJ, just to confirm it, and get ideas to make it better.

She tells me if I can do better, and it stops me from being lazy with it.

I just didn't want to get that far into a story and stuff up the ending so close to it's conclusion.

I have other stories waiting to be finished before I post them, they have complicated plots that I will need to have the whole thing done so I don't confuse the reader if I change something half way through.

I almost dropped out three chapters that I have written because they need to be re- worked...but then I would be settling for less in the story, and that is not fair to the reader...

so I'm working on making them come across the way I intended them too.

My Eagle has been complaining about how much time I am spending on the computer these days since I now have my own.

Like he can talk! I have been a gaming/flight sim all round computer widow for years...now it's his turn! LOL

So back to writing...

I'm being dragged to see Die Hard 4 by my sister this afternoon, I would rather go and see Amazing Grace! But anyway..I do like action films, just over Die Hard, if it was James Bond how ever....mmmm

Awwwww..... Ebony, you're making me blush!!! Blushing

Seriously, your fics are so wonderful! But we all need beta-readers. When you're deep in the middle of a fic, sometimes it's hard to step back and get perspective, KWIM?

As for computer time... my DH brought home Guitar Hero from work, with all of the accoutrements, and he's been playing it all weekend!!! I had to really fight with him to let me have the TV for a short while to see a few Eagle Riders eps... fortunately, I won.... Laugh1

As the queen of the unfinished fic - let me sympathise with you.

My problem is the muse attacks ... OR weekends. I tend to mull over the next chapter in my mind, and it turns into something silly that gets me all frazzled and lost ....

I post as I go simply to be able to make changes based on reader's reactions.

I might then stall, start something else, then come back later to it ...

Right now I am finishing War II - WIll then step back to NO, then am itching to review Rebellion ...

I have no beta or idea guru to work with so I stall more often than not.

Somtimes, ya know, posting what you have, and receiving commets are a good poke. I find it gives me energy to keep it going. Sometimes it gives me new direction, too, when readers slide in "i hope they..." comments.

My fics have been saved sometimes because I have listened as I go with comments.

Lola kicked me in the ass with the early War II, griping about Mark's initial reaction - I fixed it and found some more direction ... and then, more recently, I got a hard and swift kick in the ass from a couple of readers that made me change my direction into a place that I am pretty darn comfy with! (had I left it, I wouldn't have moved on in such an exciting direction.

But that's my poloy - you'll find yours ...

I think I have...I'm just new at writing and I do like the feedback as it does motivate me to do more...I'm so angsty though...Even the next story is very angsty...were that came from who knows!

I need my morning coffee to wake up so I'll see ya all later...

Ebony having just read your finished fic I can tell you its well worth the wait.

There are always times when that muse just wants you to keep going, in my case normally at the same time it sends me off on tangents!

The wonderful thing about the people here and at the clubhouse is that they inspire, cajoul and in the case of Imi pout until the get more work. So it gets done in the end.

Sometimes its also good to take a step back and just leave it for a while and as you do get another perspective.

ITA that it was worth the wait Ebony. Sorry I was so hard on you.... Wink But I think the fic turned out much better!

And just keep going, you'll get more done and it will be fantastic too!

That's O.K TJ,

If I was confident that it read the way I wanted it to, then I would not have asked for second opinion!

I needed some guidance with chapter 9, I wanted it read right and the message to come out.

It was great brain storming!

Now onto the next fic!
