Help! 
My mind has just drawn a blank and I am hoping someone can help me.
(probably occured from watching all these Gatchaman CD's.)
In the Gatch Universe we have Red Impulse and his team. Am correct in thinking the jets they fly are called Impulse Jets?
In the BOTP Universe it is Colonel Cronus and the Red Rangers. But (and this is where my mind has blanked) what do they call their jets? Or are they given a name in either Universe?
In the Fic I am working on I have Cronus in an Impulse Jet and am trying to figure out if I had always called it that in 'My Universe' or if 6 months of watching Gatch had become a bigger influence on my universe than I thought.

Okay, o I'm NOT a fan of Red Impulse/Cronus, and I try not to think about him too much (except to bash him in my fics... see Prom Night and Exercise in Futility as examples) but I DON'T think they gave a name to their jets.
So.... I'd say that you could call them whatever you want.
Now, I wait for James to come tell me that I am wrong.

I usually have Cronus as a Rival/tormentor in my universe too but..... Mark has decided to Joyride in Cronus' Jet and that really gets Cronus in a bad mood.

I don't recall their jets being named ... I'll leave that to Tats .... But while we're waiting for his input ...
here is an interesting tidbit.
In Japan, they have an aerial acrobatic team called "Blue Impusle"
Japanese Flyboys
Paint it red and put some funky teeth decals and viola! Red Impuse.
So whatcha think? Did Tatsunoko et al base RI on this team?

I have watched this part of the series of Gatchaman a lot and I don't re call them actually naming the jets. good bit of detail though.
They remind me of WW2 fighters that used to painted thier planes. I'm neutral with red impulse...six to one...
James will know if we missed it!

From the sounds of it, I may indeed have come up with Impulse Jets on my own (who knows where) and what has me confused is the Gatch name Red Impulse. (That, is what is making me second guess myself.) Shrug.

Hi all,
Actually, my lack of response to this post has had more to do with having a cold and needing to get more sleep instead of trying to write a coherent reply. So, if this seems disjointed, that's why.
For Gatchaman, Red Impulse's plane does have a name, not that it ever comes up in the show itself or that it's all that inspired. It is called, simply, "Red Impulse." Not "Red Impulse Fighter Plane" or "Impulse Jets," just "Red Impulse." Boring, huh?
For BotP, the planes used by Col. Cronus and the other Red Rangers aren't given a name. About the closest we get are that they are referred to as a "Rigan fighter," which is meant more as a descriptive reference than a name.
I hope this helps! Now, back to bed...

Sooo that's why I though the Jet itself didn't have a name. I just assumed it was the name of the squadron and that was it.
I understand Tut's where your coming from on having a cold and wanting sleep but being restless at the same time, and just looking but not wanting to think about a reply.
