What happens between Jason and Princess one Friday night?

Excerpt

"Seriously, Princess," he said, "you need some friends, outside of the team."

"Why?" she demanded. "What's wrong with hanging out with you four?"

"It's not four of us right now. Jason replied. "With Tiny and Mark at the Academy, it's just me and Keyop, and he's just a kid. So that leaves me."

Princess pondered this stark truth.

"I can't get close to anyone." she explained. "I can talk and laugh with other people, but I can't tell them anything about myself: what I do or what career I'm training for."

She looked at him, tears in her eyes.

"I have so many secrets, Jase. It tears me up inside. It's easier to keep everyone at arms' length."

She sighed. "You must think Im crazy. The rest of you hang out with kids at school. But I can't do that. No one really understands& no one ever could."

Jason took Princess' hands in his.

"I understand, Prin."
